Panel Discussion: Venture Capital in Blockchain

Investments in companies with blockchain related business models are soaring all over the world. In 2021 alone, VCs have already invested over USD $17 Billion into crypto projects. Coinbase reached unicorn status and went for an IPO, Fireblocks recently raised $310 Million (tripling their valuation), and Chainalysis crossed a valuation of $4 Billion, to just name a few. There is no reason to think this gold-rush could die down anytime soon.

This is the topic of this panel, Venture Capital in Blockchain. We invited speakers from three VCs that, in some cases, focus entirely on blockchain startups, to answer a number of questions, discuss the current state of VC, and also take questions from the audience!

Some of the questions to kick off the conversation:

• Will the growth of VC in blockchain continue at this breakneck speed?
• What is different about providing capital to a blockchain company/business model? Is it more risky than usual?
• Why should successful blockchain startups seek capital from a VC instead of doing an ICO / STO?
• How can tokenization affect traditional VC funding? Will there be more crowdfunding in the future?
