At the occasion of the digital festival Novembre Numérique, the French Institutes of the Nordic countries – Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden – have the pleasure of inviting you to a webinar on the subject of art and blockchain!
Blockchain entered the world on January 3rd, 2009, introducing an innovative new trust architecture: an environment in which users trust a system like a large shared information registry. The art world expected no more, as this new technology promises to eliminate the intermediaries between the creator and his public, giving artists the possibility to be better paid, and to regain control over their works and their rights. But in concrete terms, what will really change with blockchain?
Are terms like consensus or decentralization through this new technology really revolutionary and emancipatory concepts? And what can a world with anonymous actors and without its own governance look like? Is the work of art destined to a totally dematerialized future? And what concrete advantages does blockchain bring to artistic creation and to artists in their relationship with the art market?
The participants of the webinar are representatives from the Nordic countries as well as France:
– Jonas Kasper Jensen (Denmark)
– Trym Ruud (Norway)
– Olle Strandberg (Sweden)
– TBC (Finland)
– Primavera de Filippi (France/Italy)
Moderator: Albert Meige (France)
