In September, Starbucks announced it has partnered with Polygon to build its Starbucks Odyssey Web3-powered experience. The beta is now live.
Starbucks Odyssey is an extension of Starbucks Rewards loyalty program that unlocks access to exciting new benefits and experiences for members. The experience allows members to participate in a series of entertaining, interactive activities called ‘Journeys”. Once a Journey is complete, members will earn collectible ‘Journey Stamps’ (NFTs) and Odyssey Points that will open access to new benefits and immersive coffee experiences that they cannot get anywhere else.
Early next year, members will also be able to use the Starbucks Odyssey market to buy unique, ‘Limited-Edition Stamps.’ Designed by Starbucks partners (employees), the Limited-Edition stamps will bring to life a new dimension of Starbucks, weaving together visual elements of Starbucks past, present and future into beautiful, layered pieces of artwork.
Starbucks Odyssey members can enjoy a peace of mind knowing that their Web3 experiences are powered by one of the greenest blockchains in existence. Earlier this year, Polygon committed to becoming carbon negative by the end 2022 and has already offset its network’s cumulative CO2 debt.
The network’s technical capabilities, a thriving ecosystem and the team’s commitment to sustainability made Polygon a hub for some of the most important Web3 projects, including DeFi protocols like Aave, Uniswap V3, NFT marketplaces OpenSea and Mark Cuban-founded Lazy.com. It is also why companies such as Adobe, Stripe and Robinhood have chosen Polygon as their default gateway to Web3.
